Wrath Of The Titans - Movie Review

A huge improvement to a really awful remake.

wrath of the titans review

Did this film recover from the awful Clash Of The Titans? Did the post-converted 3D succeeded and impress us?

Ten years after defeating the Kraken, Perseus, the demi-god son of Zeus, is living as a village fisherman and a sole father to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades, Hades and Poseidon.
The  triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son Ares, switches loyalty and makes a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. With the help of Queen Andromeda, Poseidon's son Agenor, and fallen god Hephaestus, Perseus bravely embarks on a quest into the underworld to underworld to rescue Zeus, defeat the Titans and save mankind.

Wrath Of The Titans is a big improvement for Clash Of The Titans. While watching the film, I thought that it features some titans, which Clash doesn't have, and the story, is very awful. Like Michael Bay's Transformers, it stays to the action just to forget the entire bad story. This film doesn't make any sense. Good thing there was some freaking awesome trailers attached in 3D before the film (like The Hobbit, which was brilliantly made in 3D).

The acting in this film is still the same that you hated or loved in Clash. Sam Worthington kinda improve a little. He was less serious with his character and his new hair do, kinda reflect on his character. Liam Neeson , still the same. Ralph Fiennes, who suck on the first one, was sucker in this film. I was expecting a Voldemort-ish acting for his character (well, because it suits up for the role of Hades). Bill Nighy, really horrible. And there's one character in this film that completely annoys me, Agenor, played by Toby Kebbell (who was in most bad films like Sorcerer's Apprentice and Prince of Persia). He was pretending to be funny, but he's not. He's really not. The only thing I liked about this movie is the visuals.

The visuals was awesome in this film. Clash might have some good effects, but this one, is flawless. I love how Krono's mega lava blast look so real and entertaining to see. The titans have a realistic look in it. The visual effects suits up to the action scenes.

wrath of the titans reviewThe action scenes is the one you will gonna love to see. I love the action scenes here. But, it has no thrills or suspense in it. Some action scenes doesn't make any sense. By the way, you know what also doesn't make any sense, the annoying 3D.

The 3D in this film doesn't add anything in this film. One reason why I decided to watch this in 3D is the action scenes that might have a little pop-up thingy coming right in your face. But, you know what, there's NONE. I repeat NONE. It has no depth or anything a 3D have. I saw Clash Of The Titans in 3D two years ago and obviously, it's a waste of time and money. But the 3D here improves because of the landmarks. It's still dark and one thing I learned about going to movies, only see a film in 2D.

The film is terribly awful, annoying, disgrace, rubbish. I can't wait to see another waste of time Clash sequel.

The film rates it 4.5/10!

For now, why not check a featurette from Wrath Of The Titans:
