'The Film Buff's Bucket List', film critic and YouTuber Chris Stuckmann's first book, lists down 50 of the most ideal must-see movies released in the 21st century (2000 to 2015).

Without giving too much of the actual films enclosed here, the diversity the choices will surely create a healthy adventure for the regular moviegoer to further explore the realm of cinema. It covers from the insanely strange features like 'Donnie Darko' to more laid-back blockbusters such as 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King'. Some of them are very unpopular picks like Michael Haneke's 2005 film 'Caché', but that's part of the fun right: to discover gems you didn't know exist until you see it.

Three of the many impressive artworks in 'The Film Buff's Bucket List' inspired by the 50 films.

1. Whiplash (2014); 2. Drive (2011); 3. The Avengers (2012)

Stuckmann's writing style creates a sense of accessibility to its readers. Unlike other critics which tend to complicate their viewpoint on something, he sticks to what he is known the best: simplicity. It satisfyingly reaches the middle ground of being a professional and casual critic, especially when he goes in-depth to a film to examine its character/ themes. There are also moments here wherein Stuckmann goes beyond an opinion to discuss his personal experience while watching it, allowing the readers to connect with him even more.

Think of it as 50 Chris Stuckmann movie reviews bundled into one, and shorter (I honestly want to read more, but that violates the 50 title limitation right?) than his usual film critiques on YouTube. While there are few misses I kinda wish could have been there (ehem 'The Social Network', 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'), it is still a fun read for people looking for a quick and informative guide to contemporary cinema.

'The Film Buff's Bucket List' is available now for the decent price of $9.99 on Amazon and select book stores worldwide through Mango Media.
