Jerrold Tarog has been confirmed to direct the film adaptation of Arnold Arre's graphic novel 'The Mythology Class.'

The 'Heneral Luna' director announced the news alongside Arre during the grand launch of TBA Studios last July 27, 2017 at the Marquee Tent, EDSA Shangri-la.

Tarog said that he and Jade Castro are currently working on the screenplay, and revealed that he actually considered doing a film version of another Arre novel 'Andong Agimat' before. He later scrapped the idea and instead focused on making 'The Mythology Class' because he felt it might be harder to make.

When asked how he would translate the novel to the big screen, he jokingly replied "I still don't know."

'The Mythology Class' tells the story of a young girl who holds a passionate love for Filipino myths. When she finds herself face to face with mythology creatures, she embarks on a journey to fight supernatural creatures who are wreaking havoc in the human world.

No release date has been set for the film adaptation of 'The Mythology Class.'

Tarrog is currently working on 'Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral,' the 'Heneral Luna' sequel starring Paulo Avelino as Gregorio Del Pilar.
