If you’re looking for something to inspire you to be more financially responsible when it comes to dealing with finances, a simple film viewing can sometimes get the job done.

We’re truly blessed with an abundance of movies that show us the harmful and deadly repercussions of mishandling of money, and even the more inspiring rags-to-riches tales to give as more insights on what to and not do re: finance. Here are some films we recommend to jumpstart your financial journey, especially with 2023 already here with us.

Boiler Room (2001)

A college dropout, attempting to live up to his father's high standards, gets a job as a broker for a suburban investment firm which puts him on the fast track to success. But the job might not be as legitimate as it first appeared to be.

Margin Call (2011)

Margin Call follows the key people at an investment bank over a 24-hour period during the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional career.

The Big Short (2015)

In 2006-2007 a group of investors bet against the US mortgage market. In their research, they discover how flawed and corrupt the market is.

Too Big To Fail (2011)

Chronicles the financial meltdown of 2008 and centers on Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.

Majority of these films can teach us the value of responsible use of our resources, but of course it always boils down to what we can do with these learnings. It is very helpful and advisable to us a tool on saving or manually listing down your current and upcoming expenses in a journal to make the work easier for you.
