'Kill Bill' star Lucy Liu has been added to the second season of the Marvel Netflix series 'Luke Cage'. No, not for a role, but for a directing gig.
Liu is tapped to direct the premiere episode of the show's return in 2018. The actress has directed four episodes of CBS' Elementary, which she starred on, and the 2011 short film "Meena."
“What a thrill to collaborate with Marvel and Netflix, two industry titans, who paint our world with inspiring stories and beguiling characters,” Lucy Liu said. “It is such an honor to work with such a passionate and fearless team.”
The show's executive producer Jeph Loeb was all but excitement for Liu's addition. "When you're dealing with a bulletproof man, it helps if you have a bulletproof Director. Lucy brings a keen eye, a superb sense of story, and an obvious love of actors. She is rocking Luke Cage 2.”
'Luke Cage' stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Rosario Dawson, and Alfre Woodard. Cheo Hodari Coker serves as showrunner.
