It was during the 2017 edition of Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival when we last saw 'Kuya Wes,' the charming Ogie Alcasid starrer directed by James Mayo.

Now, the film is getting a theatrical release for the first time outside its initial run. An official date is yet to be announced, but the upcoming release of 'Kuya Wes' will be featuring a new cut of the movie, but there is a way you can catch this before anyone else.

Spring Films, the team behind the film, is celebrating their 10th year anniversary and to commence this milestone, they will premiere the new cut to the public this January 28 to 29, 2019 at Cine Adarna, UP Diliman.

Aside from 'Kuya Wes,' Spring Films (in partnership with Film Producers Society) is hosting a retrospective of their previous films such as 'Kita Kita,' 'Relaks, It's Just Pag-ibig,' and more.

Film synopsis of 'Kuya Wes': Kuya Wes, a timid remittance clerk, feels like he does not exist, except when he is working at the remittance center. He is mostly ignored by his younger brother Raf and his family. His days are only brightened when his customer Erika comes in every month. One day, his life changes as Erika’s overseas husband leaves her. Wes decides to help her from his own pocket. His “relationship” with Erika and his friction with Raf starts to change him.
