When an unexpected enemy emerges who threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, the director of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, also known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in a need of group of superheroes that would help him pull the world from disaster.
There he finds Super Soldier Steve Rogers, Billionaire Philantrophist Tony Stark, Demi-God Thor, Soldier Serum Scientist Bruce Banner, Marksman Clint Barton, and Martial Arts Combat Expert Natasha Romanoff to stop the vicious Loki from ruling the Earth.
The Avengers does not only tells about a group of heroes assembling and pulling off the job from destruction. It also tackles about finding and knowing yourself in a group. The premise of the movie is having peace, strength, confidence, and knowing oneself.
From all the over hype that surround to the Joss Whedon flick, The Avengers is now the BEST MARVEL MOVIE EVER. I'm not surpassing the film to Chistopher Nolan's The Dark Knight because The Dark Knight kinda reflect on the political aspect of our nation. The Avengers is about having strength and fighting for the greater good.
Anyways, when the 1st trailer for The Avengers started to came out like late 2011, I wasn't that excited because the teaser for The Dark Knight Rises came out later on. But when the Super Bowl TV Spot and the 2nd trailer came. I was mind blown. The 1st trailer of the movie didn't quite show very much but when the marketing of the movie started to grow and grow, I thought I was totally gonna see this no matter what.Firstly, I would like to thank Star Movies and Powerplant Mall for inviting me to be part of the blocked screening in 3D. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansonn and Jeremy Renner all did a brilliant job portraying their role of a lifetime. They all did very well but Mark Ruffalo is the one that blew me away. Ed Norton might become a good choice but Ruffalo is outstanding in this film. I knew him as a terrible actor in his early years, here, he's awesome.
Ruffalo's Hulk is the main attraction of the movie. I didn't quite expect him to be the most entertaining character in the movie because Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark's lines always make me laugh. But Hulk is so, so funny and at the same time, very entertaining in most action scenes. Evan's Steve Rogers is very entertaining in the movie. If you look closely in Steve, he is lonely and a fish-out-of-water curiosity.Thor's character is not that developed in the movie but it's not a big deal for me. Hawkeye and Black Widow, they're both awesome and fit for their role. Hiddleston's Loki is the a bad-ass villain in this film. He is so bad, you wanna break the hell out of him.
The use of 3D in this film is alright. I had this slight stigmatism in my eye so, I wasn't able to see 3D thaty well. But, the 3D here, is a no problem with me. I enjoyed watching most of the scenes from Hawkeye's arrow shooting in front of you, Inside of Ironman's suit, Hulk Smashing, to the climactic ending scene. Speaking of the ending, in tradition of every Marvel movie, a post-credits scene will appear during the credits, and it was definitely awesome and thrilling.
Overall, The Avengers is a great action-packed, epic popcorn movie everyone of you will surely enjoy.
The geek rates it 8.5/10. I will be back for my review of Dark Shadows and MoneyBall.
