Cabaret Auckland Production 2026

Auckland Theatre Company and Auckland Live have extended their major new production of Cabaret, the musical at the Kit Kat Club, adding an extra week of performances through to Sunday 25 October.

Directed by Benjamin Kilby-Henson, following his acclaimed, sold-out season of Macbeth, this major new staging brings together a stellar cast of Aotearoa musical theatre performers.

Leading the cast is Nomi Cohen (Chicago, & Juliet) as Sally Bowles, the role made iconic by Liza Minnelli in the 1972 film, alongside Matu Ngaropo (Ngāi Tūhoe, Te Rarawa, Ngāti Porou) (& Juliet, The Lion King, Hamilton) as the mercurial Emcee. The cast is completed by Susan Brady as Fräulein Schneider, Jonathan Martin as Ernst Ludwig, Hillary Moulder as Fräulein Kost, Steven Ray as Herr Schultz, and Justin Rogers as Clifford Bradshaw, supported by an ensemble of ten Kit Kat Club performers and live musicians.

Sixty years after it first premiered, Cabaret remains one of the most iconic and enduring musicals ever written.

Cabaret concludes a year of strong audience response to the engaging storytelling on the ASB Waterfront Theatre stage. Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Helen Clark in Six Outfits, RBG: Of Many, One and Macbeth all finished their seasons with sold-out performances.

Tickets for Cabaret, including its extension week, are now on sale on Auckland Theatre Company and Ticketmaster.
