The Graduate tells the story of an recent college graduate, Benjamin Braddock, who is trapped into an affair with Mrs. Robinson, who happens to be the wife of his father's business partner and then finds himself falling in love with her teenage daughter, Elaine Robinson.
This film is one of the best films ever made of all time. It is very dark and serious. This film is very enjoyable to watch and this is one of the best romantic-drama film of all time. This is much more better than my favorite romantic-comedy, 500 Days Of Summer. This film is very artistic in a unique way and this film brings a very awesome acting.
Dustin Hoffman is very good in this film. Clearly to say, he's very lucky to have a role like this because I thought this film brings him up on the rise as an actor. Also, this role made him more better as an honorable actor. Anne Bancroft is a very good actress here. This film is the first time I have seen her and what
I thought is that she's very good. She's very beautiful and sad to say she died in 2005. This film inspires me to watch other Bancroft's films like GI Jane and The Restless Breed.
The cinematography of this film was outstanding. I thought the cinematography was the main reason why this film became a classic. It is a very well done and proud to say that I almost remember Stanley Kubrick's portraits here. The scene where Ben was doing nothing but just staying under the pool is I thought was remarkable. Very simple scene and no dialogue but it will made you realize that You'll love to hear and see that remarkable movies and outstanding cinematography were once made in the early 60s.
Great performance. Great soundtrack. Great Direction from Mike Nichols. Brilliant script. And a very outstanding cinematography. Would love to have it on DVD and i'm beginning to find some copy now.
The geek rates it 9.3/10. Second Best 60s Film I have seen so far after 2001: A Space Odyssey. Hoping for someone to made a remake of this film in a good and successful way.
