Here is the full list of cinemas showing ‘Dunkirk’ on 70mm

The full list of participating theaters showing Christopher Nolan’s latest WWII film ‘Dunkirk’ in 70mm has been released.

Shot 75% with IMAX 70mm cameras, the film is set to be the biggest 70mm release in 25 years, with over 130 cinemas screening it in the large format.

In the Philippines, SM Mall of Asia’s IMAX theater is revealed to be part of the list. The cinema has been converted to an IMAX digital theater in 2013, but it is now returning to its original 70mm form. The last film to be released on this format here is, coincidentally, another Nolan film ‘Interstellar’.

(Update: IMAX SM Mall of Asia has confirmed they will not be showing 'Dunkirk' in the 70mm format. They will project it in the IMAX Digital format instead.)

‘Dunkirk’ is set in “May 1940, when Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.”

The film is set for a release this July 20, 2017 from Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines.
