(500) Days of Summer - Movie Review

Aug 7, 2011
One of the most real and artistic romantic comedy I have ever seen..
500 days of summer

(500) Days of Summer tells the complex, cool and sad story of Tom Hansen, an aspiring architect who currently earns his living as an greeting card writer. Upon encountering his boss' new secretary, Summer Finn, Tom discovers that the pair have plenty in common. The film seriously tells the story of the rise and fall of the two's relationship. It tells how the two met and how the two broke-up.
The film was one of my anticipated films way back in 2009. It is very unique and seriously, I almost fell in love with the characters. The chemistry between Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel made me even love the film more. The thing that the film was not in the usual chronological order was not confusing at all, I thought using that technique was artistic. Obviously, the film was very interesting to watch and I was so much surprised.

Joseph Gordon Levitt did an amazing job in the film. He is almost fit for the role and there also I realized that  in every role of his was well-acted and well-portrayed. Levitt is one of those actors who can portray anything, no matter how complex it is and no matter how difficult it is. Looking forward for his portrayal of John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises. Also, Zooey Deschanel is a great actress. She's adorable and charming and I was almost fell in love with her. She was very simple, unique and neat, which what I totally love for a woman.

Overall, the film is a must-see romantic comedy/ drama every single human on Earth shouldn't miss. The cinematography is also well done. The acting and direction is almost amazing. The soundtrack is also addicting. I love how they used Sweet Disposition in this film. That song made me fell in love and I was very surprised that they attached it to the film.

I have the DVD of the film and I couldn't find some Blu-ray copy of the movie. If I find some copy, I would totally love to own it.

The geek gave it 9.2/10. Very unique and artistic. Definitely a must-see for every living creature on Earth.
