Hotel Transylvania (Film Review)

Sep 29, 2012
Come on guys, Sandler can rise up from Jack and Jill.
Hotel Transylvania features the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, David Spade, Steve Buscemi and Selena Gomez. In the movie, Sandler plays Dracula who builds this hotel for monsters and serves as a hide-away from humans. His daughter Mavis is celebrating her 118th birthday, and couldn't think much more than going to the human world and want to live free. But an unusual incident happen in the hotel, there's a human coming in. Dracula tries to hide the human boy and pretend to be a monster. And of course the boy fell in love with Mavis and this-and-that happened.

So, I wasn't hyped about this movie especially when I saw that Sandler is attached to it. A friend invited me to see this movie, and surprisingly, it's good. Hotel Transylvania is a fun movie to watch especially for kids out there. It is really funny actually and I can't count enough jokes that I laughed into.

Adam Sandler is great and used that Dracula voice really well. I'm wishing that he'll continue doing more animated movies than live-action. His reoccuring friends like Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, David Spade and like everyone who'd been in Sandler's movies, were funny as well.

With spoiling you some of the moments in the movie, like I said this movie is very funny. That final song with Adam Sandler rapping just laughs the whole theater and applauded. That Twilight bash was the one that steal the moment. And you wouldn't expect that much for an animated movie. You wouldn't believe that 'Samurai Jack' and 'Dexter's Laboratory' director Gene Tartakovsky directed this movie. I get the feeling that Dexter's Laboratory give me while watching this movie. It gets me that nostalgia watching those afternoon cartoon programs on Cartoon Network. It is such an incredible experience.

The 3D were done really good actually. But expect much more of depth than pop-ups if you're choosing to pay more cash in a 3D ticket. Voices were good. Movie was fun to watch. Soundtrack and score was too fit for the movie.

'Hotel Transylvania' is a fun movie for all ages. It was a fun, humor-filled, fast-paced ride perfect to see with your family this weekend.

The geek rates it 7.4/10. There's a lot of reviews ahead so watch out for that.
