Lav Diaz's next film 'Ang Panahon ng Halimaw' is going to be a musical

 Post-production has officially started for the upcoming Lav Diaz film entitled 'Ang Panahon ng Halimaw' (The Season of the Devil).

 The news was announced by producer Bianca Balbuena on her Facebook account. She described the film as "an anti-musical musical, a rock opera, whatever you want to call it."


'Ang Panahon ng Halimaw' is the second Diaz film to feature Piolo Pascual in the cast (first one is 2016's Hele Sa Hiwang Hapis). Joining him are Shaina Magdayao, Pinky R. Amador, Bito Aguilos, Joel Saracho, Hazel Orencio, Bart Guingona, Angel Aquino, Junji Delfino, DMs Boongaling, Lilit Reyes, Ian Lomongo, Iain Liew, Bradley Liew, Gan Hui Yee, and Noel Sto Domingo.

Set for a 2018 theatrical release, it will be produced by Balbuena and Bradley Liew for Quark Henares' Globe Studios.
