Herlene Budol is Malta, a breadwinner who’s always troubled making ends meet as a cashier in a restaurant. She also has a hard time dealing with her romantic journey, with most men ignoring her because of how she looks.

To partially hide her full appearance, she fully embraced using face mask when going out with hopes of getting the man destined for her.

The first episode of Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask takes most of its time to introduce us Malta as she goes through a regular workday. We get to see her many quirks and how despite the challenges, she opts to be humble and optimistic.

This is something that Budol has successfully built on the get-go, and while she tends to be over-the-top in simpler moments, it’s hard to not like her presence.

Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask is an entertaining watch, the kind of series that would ease up your mood. The series is yet to show us more of Joseph Marco as Sieg, a man fresh from a break-up and the eventual love interest of Malta.

As of writing, we were only able to view the first episode, and it really feels like its big gaps will be resolved and clarified in the upcoming episodes when it comes out on the Puregold Channel.
